2 soldiers washed away in Poshana river during patrol duty in Poonch, J&K

In a tragic incident, two soldiers, Naib Subedar Kuldeep Singh and Lance Naik Telu Ram were swept away by the strong currents of the Poshana river in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir while on an area domination patrol.

The Army launched a massive rescue operation to locate the missing soldiers. On Saturday night, they managed to recover the body of Naib Subedar Kuldeep Singh, and on Sunday, they found the body of Lance Naik Telu Ram. The soldiers hailed from Punjab and were serving in the Army.

According to officials, the soldiers were crossing Dogra Nallah in the Surankote area when they were swept away by the strong currents triggered by heavy rainfall and flash floods. Despite the dangerous conditions, the Army made valiant efforts to save their comrades.

Expressing their condolences, the White Knight Corps, through their official Twitter account, stated, "During an area domination patrol in difficult terrain of Poonch, Lance Naik Telu Ram, while crossing a mountainous stream, got swept away due to flash floods.

Naib Sub Kuldeep Singh, the patrol leader, while attempting to save Lance Naik Telu Ram, also laid down his life." The General Officer Commanding of the White Knight Corps saluted the soldiers and extended support to their grieving families.

Naib Subedar Kuldeep Singh hailed from Chabhal Kalan in Taran Taran, while Lance Naik Telu Ram was a resident of Khurali village in Hoshiarpur. The Army will conduct a wreath laying ceremony before sending the bodies to their respective native places.
